“What an amazing experience! I have 16 month old twins (and still breastfeeding!), and we got off to a rocky start. Paula worked with me to not only make adjustments as I was learning to breastfeed but to give me the confidence I needed to keep going. She is extremely knowledgeable, re: a wide variety of breastfeeding issues (I had issues with pumping, supplementing 3 different ways with expressed breast milk, and latch issues). I highly recommend Paula to any mom who wants to succeed with breastfeeding!”

“Paula is a wonderful lactation consultant as well as a beautiful person. She has the patience of a Saint and was a huge help to me when I had breastfeeding issues with my second child. She was by my side for almost 1 week until I got it right and he is now 16 pounds at 4 months with breast milk only! If you are having any problems with breastfeeding she is the person to call. You will be very happy with her services and she will get you well on your way to successful lactation for as long as you and your baby desire.”

Babies are born to breastfeed.

They enter our world expecting to receive the perfect food, their mother’s rich colostrum, which will soon transition into flavorful "mamma milk" and provide them with all they need for at least the first half-year of their lives. Hopefully, they will continue to enjoy this “liquid gold” for many months or even years to come, until they wean themselves.

However, in far too many instances misinformation gets in the way of the initiation and longevity of the breastfeeding relationship. Too many women don’t even start because they feel unprepared, even afraid.

In the past, women could look to their mothers and members of the community for guidance. Today, more and more moms are finding that accurate and useful breastfeeding information and assistance are hard to find.

Lactation Lounge is here to help. Founder Paula Sulkis, IBCLC, RLC, is dedicated to helping families explore their breastfeeding options in a healthy, positive way.
